Crystal was right in his character in Harry met sally when he said that women cant be friends with men as there is always the part of sex that comes into play between them. It can be said that friendships with a female started just because you were attracted towards them to strike up a conversation. When it became clean that there is no possibility of having a romantic relationship, that one thing could turn out to be platonic.
